London, UK, Sept 15, 2010 – Lawson Software today announced the first in a planned series of food & beverage industry seminars in Europe and the United States to introduce customers, prospects, media and analysts to the latest version of the industry-specific enterprise system for food & beverage companies.
Jelly Belly Candy Company will host the first seminar beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 16, 2010 at its headquarters, located at One Jelly Belly Lane in Fairfield, Calif. Jelly Belly will present on its enterprise resource planning (ERP) selection project and its decision to invest in the industry-specific solution Lawson for Food & Beverage. A Lawson customer since 2005, Jelly Belly manufactures more than 100 different types of candy, including 50 official flavors of jelly beans. The company operates two manufacturing plants in Fairfield, Calif. and North Chicago, Illinois. A third facility is a distribution center in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. The current version of Lawson for Food & Beverage is based on the latest version of the Lawson enterprise management system, M3, version 10.1 and has been designed specifically for this industry using innovative technology. It covers food industry issues such as shelf life, catch weight, variable attributes and supply chain traceability. Lawson for Food & Beverage delivers the functionality to help Lawson customers improve their own customer service through collaborative forecasting and demand planning, package management to provide better visibility across the entire supply chain, and Lawson Trace Engine to help track all ingredient and finished goods lots.
